The Central Valley REALTIST® Board (CVRB), was recently awarded a grant as part of the Juneteenth Capital Initiative. CVRB is extremely appreciative of receiving this grant from the City of Stockton Mayors Office, the Stockton Strong COVID-19 Response Fund, Bank of America, Community Foundation of San Joaquin, A.G. Spanos Companies, NAACP Stockton Branch, and the African American Chamber of Commerce.
Through the Juneteenth Capital Initiative, CVRB created the Dream of Homeownership Program, to help families within the City of Stockton achieve the goal of homeownership.
The Dream of Homeownership Program will allow CVRB to help create homeownership for Stockton’s underserved community that is considered low-to moderate income. Funds will be set aside for CVRB members as assistance grants to reduce the costs for their clients to purchase a home. Many African Americans avoid homeownership due to the belief that the up-front costs are too expensive. CVRB will use these funds to grant 10 low to moderate income Homebuyers $500 to assist with their closing costs.
Through this program, CVRB will continue its efforts to advocate and promote responsible homeownership within the Stockton community. Our mission is to empower and educate the underserved community, so they have the tools and resources to invest in real estate and build a more stable community.
Application will not be processed until all required documents are submitted. It can take up to a week to review the initial application. We advise that applicants apply early, and inform the lender and title company of the grant. The $500.00 will be issued to the Title Company.
